Before she passed away, my grandmother developed a scientific-like precision for celebrating the holidays. She shopped for Christmas gifts in November, and her house sat beautifully adorned inside and out from top to bottom by December 1st—a process made all the easier by the meticulous way she packed, preserved, and labeled her decorations at the end of the season. Consequently, her holidays were spent blissfully unencumbered by crowds, pushy sales associates, and the hectic, feverish nature of holiday shopping.
As for me, her would-be protege? Um . . . I got my decorations up by the 7th! But, that’s all I can brag about this year. In fact, I need to go shopping tomorrow to finish off my gift list, so if you’re anything like me, here are a few last minute gift or stocking stuffer ideas!
