Product Review: The Elomi Tori Plunge Bra

Product Review: The Elomi Tori Plunge Bra

Despite having stocked Elomi for many years, I have never reviewed any of their products, partly because it wasn’t until the last two years that I was able to wear them. In fact, Elomi is one of our best-selling brands for the entire shop, particularly their Cate, Matilda, and Amelia styles. A couple weeks ago, my friend Sweet Nothings offered to send me a sample of the new Elomi Tori in size UK 34GG (US 34J). Several of our clients special ordered this style, and I have admired not only the fit but also the overall aesthetic and was excited to have one of my own.

Product Review: Sculptresse by Panache Estel Bra

Product Review: Sculptresse by Panache Estel Bra

In the past, I have criticized the Sculptresse line for being a bit scattered, for not offering solid core styles, and for generally being a bit of a half-ass attempt from Panache to compete head-to-head with Elomi and Goddess for plus-size consumer dollars. Today, I can honestly say that those criticisms have been completely addressed, and Sculptrsse is quickly becoming a powerhouse brand in its own right due largely to its cohesive seasonal aesthetic, improved fit, superb quality, and inclusion of multiple core styles in larger size ranges. After loving the fits of Gina, Candi, and Chi Chi, I was super excited when my sales rep sent me a sample of the new Estel, one of the first offerings in the line to go up to a UK K cup. Suffice it to say, my expectations were set high to see what lovely entry Panache had in store!

Product Review: Ewa Michalak Dark Magenta & Paradise PL Shapes

Hello Everyone! First, I apologize for such an erratic blogging year. Between my dad’s cancer scare, catching e-coli from romaine lettuce (yes, I am that damn unlucky), getting a staph infection, being targeted by homophobic, racist boycotters, and then back to cancer scare mode with dad . . . well, 2018 has sucked. But, we’re in fall now, and I love fall. It’s a season for closure, and I hope this chapter finally ends and a brighter future begins. Even though I have not been writing, the ideas have steadily flowed, and I am allotting some time each week to catch up. In the meantime, I have today’s review as well as four guest posts I’ll be sharing while I sort through everything and plan my schedule.

Product Review: Fit Fully Yours Maxine

Product Review: Fit Fully Yours Maxine

Hello everyone! Originally, I hoped to review the Fit Fully Yours Maxine a couple years ago when I was still wearing a UK 30H and consequently purchased the bra in size North American 32J (UK 32GG). However, before I found time to prepare the necessary materials, my size changed, and the bra I purchased no longer fit. No big deal, right? I moved on to other items with the intention of circling back to Maxine soon. Eventually, I repurchased the bra in a 34J (UK 34GG) and added the review back in the queue. Spoiler alert: My weight continued to roller coaster, by which I mean it went up at a sharp incline while I looked down at my scale screaming “Whyyyyyyyy?” Last fall, I not only repurchased Maxine for the third time, a 36J (UK 36GG), but I also decided to test the style in the store and gauge customer feedback. Sometime around November, I took pictures and shot a video only for them to mysteriously vanish and need to be redone a few weeks ago. Persistence is a virtue in my book, and I am extraordinarily pleased to finally present the review.

Product Review: Scantilly by Curvy Kate Peek-a-Boo

Product Review: Scantilly by Curvy Kate Peek-a-Boo

Of the three bras I snaggeded during Curvy Kate’s massive online sale, the Scantilly Peek-a-Boo was my absolute favorite, and if I am being honest, the real driving factor behind my decision to order. For starters, it’s freakin’ green! Bright green, even! Have I not been pining after a bra this color for years?! Fabulous color aside, I was also curious to try the higher end, boudoir-inspired Scantilly line itself. The initial show-stopping collection debuted after I cut ties with the brand, leaving me to eye the stunners from a distance. Finally, I would have a Scantilly piece of my own! (Side note: No video again due to the general sheer styling of the piece.)

Product Review: Curvy Kate Bridget

Product Review: Curvy Kate Bridget

When Curvy Kate had a big sale on older merchandise, I snagged several styles from their website partly for curiosity’s sake and partly to determine if it was worthwhile to resurrect my relationship with the brand. While I don’t mind padded bras, I prefer unlined, and I wanted to try one of those styles in addition to the Daily Dream I reviewed. Given my penchant for black, I opted for the quite sheer Bridget—so sheer in fact there will be no video review accompanying my written one. Oh, and a warm welcome back to the Sophisticated Pair Pears!

Product Review: Sculptresse Chi Chi

Product Review: Sculptresse Chi Chi

This product review has been a loooooooooooooooong time coming. First, I’ve mentioned before how hard reviews are when you are not feeling the most body positive about yourself because, hey, there you are in all your unphotoshopped glory for everyone, but especially yourself, to see. Motivation to be in front of a camera dissipates rapidly, but the world doth not stop for a forty pound weight gain. Consequently, I shot this video and planned to review it a few weeks ago, but in the chaos of the move, Thanksgiving, gift guides, bronchitis, and now Christmas, I have had “Chi Chi Review” on my project list for some time with no forward progression. Friday, in between helping last minute shoppers, I squeezed together enough time to jot down the written portion as well as to organize the copious number of products I plan to review in the coming weeks. Basically, I told myself, and pardon my language, “Girl get your shit together.” And I am, and I will, and you lovely readers get a review in the process.

Product Review Redux: Tutti Rouge Liliana

Product Review Redux: Tutti Rouge Liliana

When the charming Tutti Rouge brand first debuted two years ago, I was excited to see another new entry into the fuller-market, particularly one which effortlessly blended flirty bubblegum fun with grown-up sophistication for a collection with broad appeal. Tutti Rouge generously provided me bras to review, including the core style Liliana, but we experienced initial sizing problems. Ordinarily, I wore a UK 30H/HH, but the 30HH Liliana was too tight to fasten and an entire cup size small, making it difficult to wear often, but I always wanted to revisit the style in a better-fitting size. Flash forward to 2015, and I finally had my chance!
