Winter/Spring Preview 2014: Sculptresse

Hello Everyone,

By popular request, I am adding the Sculptresse by Panache spring preview to the blog!  Since Sculptresse is a younger line still finding its customer base, the fashion offerings are considerably smaller than Cleo or Superbra, but I applaud the brand for incorporating color and print instead of sticking strictly with basics.

The color of the Pure reminds me of Elomi’s upcoming Bijou without the plunging neckline, and the May has a rather darling print on the cups.  Only Bellise has little appeal for me, and I wonder if such a busy print on a rather full-cup won’t overwhelm women wearing larger cup sizes.

In my feedback survey for Panache, I actually said they needed to add a plunge and a strapless option in the Sculptresse range. Don’t hold your breath that they’ll listen to me though!

Wow, the May is gorgeous! They don’t make a 34 band, so I won’t be able to try this line. But I’m so excited for it’s release!

It is a shame they don’t offer 34 bands yet even if a smaller cup size range, but it’s still nice to see Panache branching out!

Thanks you Erica. I am still baffled by the Sculptresse size range. The one style that comes in 36J is Bellise and the shallowness at the center gore made it unwearable for me. I know that I was not the only one with that problem. I just wish they would fix the shallowness issue and expand the offerings in +HH. Who IS their target market?

That’s a great question! When I first heard about Sculptresse, I was meeting with a sales rep, and she asked if I had any feedback for the brand. I told her that there needed to be more options for 38-46 bands, especially in H+ cups, because the market was severely lacking. At this point, she said they were going to release a brand targeting that consumer in six months, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. There’s too much overlap here with the original Panache line in terms of sizes, and I thought the purpose of Sculptresse was to expand the Panache range more. Maybe in future collections we’ll see more sizes and fit tweaks?
